OUR STORY

At Pass The Salt, our vision and mission is centered around a desire to empower every person to be the salt and light of the world.

MISSION

Inspiring you to be the salt and light of the world.

VISION

To see the Body of Christ living set-apart lives, seeking after God's own heart, and becoming an influence to the world around them, through love and relationship with Jesus Christ.

In Matthew 5:13-16, we are called by Jesus' to be the salt and light of the earth. "You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine!" (MSG). The Gospel of Jesus Christ is freedom and good news poured out, it's a bright and shining light for all to see. You were created, formed, and fashioned by God to be light-bearers that shine His light, purifying this world in the midst of darkness, participating as influencers of the redeeming work of Christ on the cross.

Pass The Salt is a ministry that seeks to ignite the Body of Christ into a deep relationship with Jesus through foundational and practical discipleship. We believe it's through an abiding relationship with Him, by the power of the Holy Spirit, which empowers us to be salt and light in any situation. We hope what is produced here encourages you, and brings you closer to God, so you become all that He has called you to be.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

MEET SUMMER

Founder & Creator of Pass The Salt

Hello, I'm Summer!

Welcome to Pass the Salt!

Life Pacific University Graduate with a BA in Ministry and Leadership trained Christian Counselor and Life Coach with a focus on spiritual formation and biblical application. My passion for this ministry comes from my journey with God, growing up I was ruled by fear and anxiety, I felt like I needed to depend on myself for the love and support I was longing for. So from an early age, I learned to be self-dependent. I felt very alone and misunderstood, and grew up feeling like the world was against me and I needed to survive.

As I grew older I searched everything and everywhere to find self-worth and love. I tried to fill my life with things I thought would make me feel significant and give my life purpose. I looked at the men I dated, the friends I had, the things I did, drinking, drugs, and more. As I depended on these things to make me happy they ended up failing to meet that expectation, which destroyed me even more. I felt rejected and empty with thoughts of suicide. I even looked to new age practices for the answer, finding dead end after dead end, I had come to the end of my self-reliance.

After a series of events in 2012, God came into my life and began to transform it. Before I knew it, I became a member of the local church, got baptized, and enrolled in bible school all within three months. Since that decision, I have been running after God. He has truly made my life worth living. He is the breath in my lungs and my passion. He has shown me how much He loves me even after all the things I ran to, making my life worse with each bad decision after another. He came and said I was worth something; that He still had a plan for my life; that He has seen everything and yet, still wants a relationship with me for eternity.

Jesus is in the business of changing lives. I know this because He continues to change mine. Will you let your life be transformed by Jesus? The things you give up do not compare to the things that you gain. It’s not always easy, but Jesus is always worth it! I hope my story gave you hope for yours. God is good and if you seek Him in any season, He can transform your life too. I look forward to sharing more about my life in the days to come and hopefully bringing life to yours.

Thanks for reading, God bless!
